There is an unmistakable warmth to a Tiffany lamp. When lit, the Lorette transforms — its richly coloured stained glass shade casting pools of jewel-toned light across every surface around it, in deep reds, amber yellows, sky blues and creamy whites. The Lorette is the smallest lamp in the Sullivan collection, but it carries every bit of the same craftsmanship. Each shade is individually handcrafted in the traditional Tiffany mosaic style, with intricately cut pieces of coloured glass soldered together using the classic copper foiling technique that has defined the style since Louis Comfort Tiffany first pioneered it in the late nineteenth century. The result is a shade that is as beautiful an object unlit as it is when glowing.

The ornate satin black die cast base adds to the lamp’s period character — detailed and substantial, it anchors the piece beautifully on a bedside table, mantelpiece or shelf. The convenient in-line on/off switch on the 1.5 metre cable makes it practical as well as decorative.
